The Estonian record sites series has gained a new addition. A marker has now been installed at the Aidu Water Adventure Center to highlight one of the region’s remarkable record sites!

Did you know that Ida-Viru County is the most record-rich region in Estonia?
Mapping carried out by the University of Tartu in the spring and summer of 2020 confirmed that the capital of Estonia’s natural and man-made records is located right here in Ida-Viru County. A total of 34 record sites were mapped, many of which are now marked and easy for visitors to find.

The Aidu Water Adventure Center is one of these unique locations — Estonia’s only man-made Olympic-size rowing canal, surrounded by a distinctive quarry landscape. Clear light-blue water, high banks, and endless waterways create an environment that attracts athletes, adventurers, and nature lovers alike.

The addition of the new record site marker highlights the Aidu Water Adventure Center as one of the true gems of Ida-Viru County. It is a place where nature, history, and adventure come together, offering experiences you won’t find anywhere else.

Come explore, take photos, and share your record moment in Aidu!
